Peter Axelrod has been a Neutral for the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court, New York County, since its inception in 1995 and has been an arbitrator in the Civil Court since 1985 and in those capacities has been called on to mediate and arbitrate hundreds of commercial disputes.

 

Our firm also represents individuals in the purchase and sale of entire businesses, various business assets and in the formation of new businesses.

Examples of Our Commercial Litigation Practice

 

  • Sales Commission Dispute: succeeded in getting the full award of commissions sought for employee in a dispute involving sales commissions with former employer

  • Non-Compete Dispute: obtained injunction for corporate client against a competing company barring competitor from hiring client's former employee based upon non-compete agreement

  • Defective Product Dispute: negotiated settlement during trial on behalf of client against a supplier seeking to recover for goods sold, which our client contended were defective

  • Commercial Lease Dispute: successfully imposed lease provisions on behalf of corporate automobile fleet owner, enforcing payment for repairs and abuse of leased equipment

  • Competitive Drug Use Dispute: successfully represented owner of show horse accused by American Show Horse Shows Association in an administrative hearing relating to allegations of the use of unauthorized drugs

  • Warranty Dispute: negotiated settlement after discovery on behalf of horse broker in defense of claim that a show horse failed to meet a sales warranty regarding its health
